Technical Implementation Overview for Google Workspace

Introduction

This article gives an overview of how Google Workspace customers can implement Hoxhunt for Gmail.

Implementing Hoxhunt for Google Workspace

1. Ensure training email delivery

Reason for implementation

Ensures that Hoxhunt's simulated phishing training emails are delivered to end users as reliably as possible.

2. Allow Hoxhunt through proxies, VPNs, firewalls, and link scanners

Reason for implementation

Ensures that Hoxhunt's Google Workspace add-on is able to open the pop-up window where users can receive optional Instant Feedback, or go through the micro training after successfully reporting a Hoxhunt training email.

Ensures that the user can fail a Hoxhunt training email by clicking on a link included in the email, which will open a pop-up window where the employee can go through the micro training.

3. Install and distribute Hoxhunt's Google Workspace add-on

Reason for implementation

Ensure that all employees participating in Hoxhunt training have the Hoxhunt button available in their Inbox in Gmail.

4. Set up SSO (optional) 

Reason for implementation

Allows admins, SOC personnel and end users log in via web browser to Hoxhunt Dashboard and other areas relevant to them through Single Sign-on.

Alternative

If SSO is not implemented, Magic Links will be used instead.

 

5. Set up automated user provisioning (SCIM) (optional)

Reason for implementation

Allows admins to manage their users automatically through SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management).

Alternative

If SCIM is not enabled, users can be managed through CSV uploads through Hoxhunt Admin Portal. Read more: Admin Portal: User Management through User Import Tool or CSV Lists
