Additional notes

Microsoft Exchange / M365 Users

  1. Classic Desktop Outlook for Windows:
    • If you are running Outlook version that uses Legacy Edge (EdgeHTML) to render add-in content, please update to an Outlook version that uses Chromium-based Edge instead (more info in links below). Hoxhunt doesn't support Legacy Edge as Outlook's embedded browser.
    • If you are running a volume-licensed Outlook 2016 or 2019, Hoxhunt reporting experience for end users is partially done outside the embedded Outlook experience because Outlook is using Internet Explorer to render add-in content (see here).
    • If you are still using Outlook 2010, you must install Hoxhunt COM add-in as Outlook web add-ins are not supported.
  2. New Outlook for Windows: COM add-ins are not supported. You must use Officejs version of the Hoxhunt add-in (so called Outlook web add-in).

For a comprehensive list of supported configurations by Microsoft, please refer to:

Google Workspace Users

  1. Web Access: Hoxhunt is compatible with Gmail via web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
  2. Desktop Outlook Clients: When using Gmail accounts via Outlook desktop, Hoxhunt COM add-in is required. Ensure that the latest version of the COM add-in is installed.
  3. Mobile Users: Only the native Gmail app supports Hoxhunt via the native Gmail add-on version.

Network and Security Considerations

  1. Group Policies: Ensure that group policies do not block the Hoxhunt service.
  2. Script Blockers: If script-blocking software is used, allow access to and from *.hoxhunt.com.
  3. Firewalls and Proxies: Firewalls must allow unrestricted access to Hoxhunt services. Proxies should bypass traffic to *.hoxhunt.com.
  4. Load Balancers: Avoid placing load balancers between Outlook clients and the Exchange service, as this can interfere with Hoxhunt's performance.
