Exchange and M365
Windows user requirements
In Outlook desktop clients, Outlook add-ins use an embedded browser control (also known as a webview). Add-ins also need a JavaScript engine to run the JavaScript. Both the embedded browser and the engine are supplied by a browser installed on the user's computer.
Which browser is used depends on:
- The computer's operating system.
- Whether the add-in is running in Office on the web, in Office downloaded from a Microsoft 365 subscription, or in perpetual Office 2013 or later.
- Within the perpetual versions of Office on Windows, whether the add-in is running in the "retail" or "volume-licensed" variation.

NOTE: If you are using Outlook 2010, you must install Hoxhunt COM add-in. This version of Hoxhunt add-in requires .NET framework 4.5.2 or newer, and Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime.
If you are unable to locate Hoxhunt add-in on your Windows PC after it has been deployed, please check this article.
Mac user requirements
Outlook on Mac, which is distributed as part of Microsoft 365, supports Outlook add-ins. Running Outlook add-ins in Outlook on Mac has the same requirements as Outlook on Mac itself: the operating system must be at least OS X v10.10 "Yosemite". Because Outlook on Mac uses WebKit as a layout engine to render the add-in pages, there is no additional browser dependency.
You can also access Outlook on the Web with any modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)
NOTE: Optional Connected Experiences must be enabled.

Additional considerations
Group Policies
Many of the settings mentioned above can be enforced via Group Policies.
Script blockers
If you are using a script blocker software, please allow access to and from *.hoxhunt.com.
Firewalls and proxies
Some firewalls may limit or block connectivity to the Hoxhunt service. Please make sure you allow unrestricted access to and from *.hoxhunt.com. Proxies may also try to proxy *.hoxhunt.com which may cause issues, so you should bypass proxy for Hoxhunt.
Unfortunately the list of domains is not yet published in our Knowledge base. Please ask for a comprehensive list of technical Hoxhunt domains from Hoxhunt Support (support@hoxhunt.com).
Load balancers
Load balancers can also have an impact on Hoxhunt's performance. Load balancers should not be placed between Outlook clients and Exchange service, as this can cause issues for Outlook add-ins such as Hoxhunt add-in.
Closed Exchange Web Services (EWS)
In case access to your EWS is either closed or restricted from Internet, this can hinder Hoxhunt's performance and functionality. Hoxhunt offers some workarounds for this.
