You collect stars and points by reporting emails through the Hoxhunt add-in. The amount of stars and points changes depending on if you reported the quest successfully, if you missed the quest (reported it too late), or failed if you clicked on a link or attachment in the quest. The number of experience points you gain also depends on the difficulty level of the reported email.
NOTE: Experience Points are being retired, and are not available in Hoxhunt's new user interface.
Experience Points (old UI only)
Experience Points determine your overall level. You can follow your progress from the dashboard at app.hoxhunt.com.
Experience Points are accumulated by clicking, missing or reporting a simulated Hoxhunt message. You can receive more difficult simulations, that give you more points.
- Full points are given when the simulation is reported and the training markers are reviewed.
- Points are given even when you miss or click a simulation when reviewing markers.
- More difficult simulations give more maximum points (1750, 3500 or 6800 points).
For each successful reporting you will receive two stars. You can collect a third star and full points by reviewing the training markers.
Quest expires after four (4) days. You can still report it via Hoxhunt add-in but it's considered as a missed quest.
For each missed quest you will receive one star. You can collect a second star by reviewing the training markers.
NOTE: For your first missed quest, we give you two stars. You can collect a third star by reviewing the training markers.
For each failed quest, you will receive zero stars. You can collect one star and points by reviewing the training markers.
