Getting Started with Hoxhunt Reports as a Manager

Your organization has given you access to Hoxhunt Reports, a dedicated reporting tool that lets you see how your team is performing on security awareness training and phishing simulations. This article will help you get started: how to log in, what you'll see, and how to get the most out of your team's data.

You can access Hoxhunt Reports in two ways:

  1. Via the Hoxhunt portal: Log into game.hoxhunt.com and look for the Reports link in the navigation menu.
  2. Directly: Go straight to reports.hoxhunt.com and log in with the same credentials you use for Hoxhunt.

No additional setup or role is needed as access is based on your existing position in your organization's reporting structure.

You will only see your team's data

When you log in, you'll automatically see data scoped to your team only. This is called the "My reportees" view. This view shows your full reporting line, which includes everyone further down the organizational tree:

  • If you manage a small team directly, you'll see those team members.
  • If you manage other managers, you'll see their teams too — all the way down.

This means the data you see always reflects your current organizational structure, as it's stored in Hoxhunt.

Navigating the dashboards

Reports is organized into several dashboards, each focused on a different area. Here's a quick overview of what you'll find:

  • Overview / Core metrics — A summary of your team's key security awareness stats, including engagement rate and overall performance trends.
  • Phishing simulations — How your team is responding to simulated phishing emails: success rates, click rates, and progress over time.
  • Training completion — Which training packages your team members have completed, and overall completion rates.
  • User performance — Individual-level data showing how specific team members are performing across simulations and training.

Use the date range selector at the top of each dashboard to adjust the time period you're viewing.

Understanding key metrics

Here are the core metrics you'll encounter:

Metric

What it means

Engagement rate

The percentage of your team who are actively participating in Hoxhunt (reporting simulated phishing emails, completing training, etc.)

Success rate

Out of all phishing simulations sent to your team, the percentage that were successfully reported (not clicked)

Training completion

The percentage of assigned training packages that have been completed by your team

Risk score

An indicator of your team's overall phishing vulnerability, based on simulation results

Tips for using Reports effectively

Use "My reportees" for day-to-day monitoring This view always reflects your current team structure, so it's the most reliable way to check how your team is doing right now.

Filter by date to track progress over time Use the date range selector to compare performance across different periods — for example, before and after a training rollout.

Explore the data with filters Most dashboards let you filter by department, country, or other dimensions. Use these to zoom in on specific groups within your team.

Export to CSV if you need to share data Many views have a CSV export option — useful if you need to share results in a report, presentation, or spreadsheet.

Privacy and individual data

Depending on your organization's settings, you may or may not be able to see individual names and email addresses in the data. If you have questions about what data is visible to you, contact your Hoxhunt admin or IT security team.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can't see any data — what's wrong?

This usually means one of two things:

  1. Manager Sharing hasn't been enabled yet for your organization. Contact your Hoxhunt admin.
  2. Your team members aren't linked to you in Hoxhunt's user directory. Check with your IT or HR team to make sure your reporting relationships are correctly set up in your organization's directory (e.g., Active Directory or HR system).

Why does my team look different than I expected?

Reports is based on the manager relationships stored in your organization's user directory. If someone recently joined or moved teams, there may be a short delay before Hoxhunt reflects that change.

Can I see data for the whole company, not just my team?

No — your view is intentionally scoped to your own team. This ensures data privacy for the rest of the organization. If you need broader access, speak with your Hoxhunt admin about the Reporting role.

Can I set up automatic reports to be sent to me?

Not yet — scheduled and automated report sharing is on the roadmap and coming in a future update. For now, you can bookmark Reports and check in directly at reports.hoxhunt.com.

I see a number in Reports that looks different from what I saw in the old Insights tool. Why?

Reports and Insights calculate some metrics differently, and the time periods may differ. If you're comparing numbers across the two tools, make sure you're using the same date range and filters. If something looks significantly off, reach out to your Hoxhunt admin or Customer Success Manager.
