NOTE: Based on customer feedback, we have made changes to this feature in June and August 2024. Please check Change history section at the end of this article for details.
You can pause your phishing simulation training for a certain number of days per year. You can pause your training via your Hoxhunt Dashboard's Pause training dialog.
Pause your phishing training
1. Go to your Hoxhunt Dashboard's Profile menu and select Pause training.
In this dialog, you can see the amount of days you can have your training paused during the current calendar year.
2. Select the Start date and End date and then click Pause Training.
How Pausing the training works
When your Training is paused, you don't receive training emails in general, except in the case where your organization specifically decides to send you a benchmark simulation.
If Pause Training was scheduled more than 2 days before pause should start, training engine will refrain from sending you new simulations when there’s 2 days or less before the pause is scheduled to start.
However, any simulations already sent to you will expire in the standard 4 calendar days*, regardless of Pause Training start date, end date or length.
*If the expiration date would fall on Saturday of Sunday, it will be automatically extended to Monday.
Reminder to pause your training
Hoxhunt occasionally asks if you are going to be away any time soon.
Amount of days available for pausing your training
The amount of days you can pause the training during a calendar year is decided by your Hoxhunt Administrator. Please contact them if you feel the amount of days available is not sufficient.
Frequently asked questions
I can't find Pause Training on my Hoxhunt Dashboard
Pausing the training is an optional feature which your Hoxhunt Administrator needs to enable.
Please reach out to your Hoxhunt Administrator to have pausing the training available. Once it has been enabled, you will see the above prompt next time you report a Hoxhunt training email.
Can I schedule the training to be paused for multiple time periods?
No. Currently, you can only have one pause period scheduled at a time.
I'm going on a longer leave (parental, sabbatical, etc.). Pausing the training doesn't have enough days to accommodate this. What should I do?
Please contact either your Hoxhunt Administrator or Hoxhunt Support (support@hoxhunt.com). They can stop your training for a longer period.
What if I receive a phishing training email day before my training gets paused - how much time do I have to report the training email before it expires? Will it still be valid when I come back?

Change history
Aug 7th, 2024: The expiration date of all phishing simulations already sent to you before your Holiday started were automatically extended until your Holiday period ended + 4 calendar days. This extension to expiration date is no longer applied from Aug 7th onwards.
June 19th, 2024: Holiday Mode was renamed as Pause Training. With Holiday Mode, users kept receiving phishing training emails (simulations) during their absence, but their expiration date was extended until they returned to work. Pause Training will however actually pause the delivery of phishing simulations.
